The weather is getting nice and it's time to get a horse that you can enjoy the trails on! Wietse is the perfect choice! He is SO sweet and nothing scares him. He would make a great life partner for you in whatever you'd like to do!
Wietse is a 9 year old gelding sired by Anton 343. When you look up the term "Gentle Giant" in the Friesian dictionary, there would be a photo of Wietse to illustrate. He was imported from the Netherlands as a 2 year old and is impeccably bred, with a full paper pedigree. His registration papers are listed below.

He is probably a
contender for Anton's largest son! Anton is not very big, so Wietse must have
got his size from his dam's side. He is ~ 16.2 hands tall and he is a perfect
example of the very classic baroque build. We have Wietse in training with
Bruce Griffin in Virginia, one of the very best Friesian trainers in America
(which is why we put our stallion Oene in with Bruce as well).
Riding Wietse is like sitting on a luxurious sofa- he is so comfortable to ride!!! He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and he loves kids, dogs, cats... he is so gentle and sweet!!!
Bruce recently rode Wietse in a thunderstorm and he never even flinched (see video link below). He is also great with children- Bruce and Staci's 2 year old can go in his stall and play around his feet and he really is mindful and gentle with her.
In these photos, Bruce is riding Wietse with a Western saddle but he also can be ridden English. He doesn't have any formal dressage training, but he knows the basics and can certainly start training level dressage. If you are looking for a kind hearted Friesian to use for trail riding, lower level dressage, or western riding, Wietse could be the horse for you- we encourage you to come try this guy out and see if he is what you have been looking for!!!
