Despite his modest disposition,
Bruce Griffin is one of the most successful trainer/handlers in
the horse world today. His large and ever growing list of awards and
accomplishments is undeniably impressive while his gentle disposition, natural
talent, drive and passion have made him well loved and respected in the sport
horse community. Bruce works successfully with many breeds and in many
disciplines. He made history in 2001 with the Friesians in The Netherlands when
he became the first American invited to present stallions at the prestigious
Hengstenkeuring, the National Championship Friesian stallion show. There he was
praised for presenting horses so well that the judges
"were almost unable to identify conformational faults". He holds the most
championships to date at the Friesian Grand Nationals. In 2005 he won Dressage
at Devon’s first annual Sportsmanship Award. Bruce worked as an apprentice to
the famous Jeff Wonnell for over a decade. Much to Mr Wonnell’s pride, Bruce has
become one of the most talented trainers in the horse world today.
In addition to Bruce’s full time career he is also very passionate about the
youth program “Transition Academy” created by Bruce and his wife Staci. Having
grown up in a gang-dominated area of Sacramento, Bruce avoided perils by
focusing on his love of horses. "I was given an
opportunity growing up that most kids don't get," Bruce Griffin said. "I've been
working for a long time to be able to give back."
